ReNotify

ReNotify is a notification history app for Android. This policy explains what data the app processes and how.

Your notification data never leaves your device.

1. Data the app processes

With your explicit permission (Android notification access), ReNotify reads incoming status-bar notifications and stores the following on your device:

• Name and package of the app that posted the notification
• Notification title and text
• Time the notification was posted and, if applicable, dismissed

This data is stored exclusively in a local database on your device. It is never uploaded, transmitted, shared, sold, or used for advertising. ReNotify contains no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs. The free version shows a small static banner promoting our own apps; it uses no ad network and does not collect or transmit any data. ReNotify Pro removes this banner.

2. Usage statistics and crash reports (only with your consent)

ReNotify asks once whether it may send usage statistics. Until you agree, nothing is sent. If you agree, the app sends a small status report to our own server (re-notify.com) about once per day. It contains:

• A random installation identifier, created by the app and not linked to your name, your Google account, or any hardware identifier
• App version, Android version, and device language
• Whether Pro is unlocked
• The number of stored notifications
• If the app crashed: a technical error trace (stack trace)

Notification content, titles, and app names are never included.

Because the identifier stays the same from one report to the next, the reports are pseudonymous, not anonymous: they can be told apart, but not traced back to you without additional information we do not have.

When a report arrives, our server derives the country from the connection and stores it with the report. The IP address itself is not stored. To stop automated mass registrations, the server keeps a salted hash of the address for at most two days; the random salt is deleted with it, so the hash cannot be turned back into an address.

We use no third-party analytics service. The data is stored on our server at Cloudflare and used solely to monitor stability and usage. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time in Settings under "Share usage statistics"; the app then deletes its identifier, so a later consent starts unlinked from earlier reports.

3. Purchases

The optional "ReNotify Pro" upgrade is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Google Play Billing. ReNotify does not receive or store any payment details; Google processes the payment under the Google Privacy Policy. The app only stores a local flag indicating whether Pro is unlocked. For revenue statistics we additionally use RevenueCat, which receives the purchase confirmation under a random identifier; no name, email address, or payment details are shared with it.

3a. Open source edition

ReNotify is also available as open source (source code: github.com/Bahoz420/ReNotify-App-OpenSource). That edition has every feature unlocked and contains no purchases, no RevenueCat and no banner. It sends usage statistics only if whoever built it configured a server for them, and then only after you agree. Builds we publish ourselves have no such server and send nothing. If you install a build from someone else, their privacy policy applies to whatever their server receives.

4. Permissions

• Notification access – required to read and save notifications. You can revoke it at any time in your system settings.
• Post notifications – required to push saved notifications back into your notification shade and for reminders you schedule.
• Internet – used only for the status report described in section 2, if you agreed to it, and for purchase processing.
• Battery optimization exemption (optional) – keeps the notification listener running in the background so the history has no gaps.

5. Data retention and deletion

You can delete individual entries or your entire history inside the app at any time. Uninstalling ReNotify permanently removes all locally stored data. Status reports on our server lose their link to your device after uninstall or after you withdraw consent, because the random identifier is deleted on your device. Our server deletes the record of an installation that has not sent a report for 90 days, and crash reports after 90 days. You can also request earlier deletion of the server records by email.

6. Children

ReNotify is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly process their data.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.

ReNotify ist eine Verlaufs-App für Benachrichtigungen auf Android. Diese Erklärung beschreibt, welche Daten die App verarbeitet.

Deine Benachrichtigungsdaten verlassen dein Gerät nie.

1. Verarbeitete Daten

Mit deiner ausdrücklichen Erlaubnis (Android-Benachrichtigungszugriff) liest ReNotify eingehende Benachrichtigungen und speichert auf deinem Gerät:

• Name und Paketname der App, die die Benachrichtigung gesendet hat
• Titel und Text der Benachrichtigung
• Zeitpunkt des Eingangs und ggf. des Entfernens

Diese Daten werden ausschließlich in einer lokalen Datenbank auf deinem Gerät gespeichert. Sie werden niemals hochgeladen, übertragen, geteilt, verkauft oder für Werbung genutzt. ReNotify enthält keine Werbe- oder Tracking-SDKs von Drittanbietern. Die Gratis-Version zeigt einen kleinen statischen Banner für unsere eigenen Apps; er nutzt kein Werbenetzwerk und erhebt oder überträgt keine Daten. ReNotify Pro entfernt diesen Banner.

2. Nutzungsstatistik und Absturzberichte (nur mit deiner Zustimmung)

ReNotify fragt einmal, ob es eine Nutzungsstatistik senden darf. Bis du zustimmst, wird nichts gesendet. Wenn du zustimmst, schickt die App etwa einmal täglich einen kleinen Statusbericht an unseren eigenen Server (re-notify.com). Er enthält:

• Eine zufällige Installations-Kennung, die die App selbst erzeugt und die nicht mit deinem Namen, deinem Google-Konto oder einer Hardware-Kennung verknüpft ist
• App-Version, Android-Version und Gerätesprache
• Ob Pro freigeschaltet ist
• Die Anzahl der gespeicherten Benachrichtigungen
• Bei einem Absturz: eine technische Fehlermeldung (Stack-Trace)

Inhalte, Titel und App-Namen von Benachrichtigungen werden niemals übertragen.

Weil die Kennung von Bericht zu Bericht gleich bleibt, sind die Berichte pseudonym, nicht anonym: Sie lassen sich voneinander unterscheiden, aber ohne zusätzliche Informationen, die wir nicht haben, nicht dir zuordnen.

Beim Eingang eines Berichts leitet unser Server aus der Verbindung das Land ab und speichert es zum Bericht. Die IP-Adresse selbst wird nicht gespeichert. Gegen automatisierte Massenregistrierungen hält der Server höchstens zwei Tage lang einen gesalzenen Hash der Adresse vor; das zufällige Salz wird mit ihm gelöscht, sodass sich aus dem Hash keine Adresse zurückgewinnen lässt.

Wir nutzen keinen externen Analysedienst. Die Daten liegen auf unserem Server bei Cloudflare und dienen ausschließlich der Stabilität und Nutzungsübersicht. Rechtsgrundlage ist deine Einwilligung (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO). Du kannst sie jederzeit in den Einstellungen unter „Nutzungsstatistik teilen“ widerrufen; die App löscht dann ihre Kennung, sodass eine spätere Zustimmung nicht mit früheren Berichten verbunden ist.

3. Käufe

Das optionale Upgrade „ReNotify Pro“ ist ein Einmalkauf, der vollständig über Google Play Billing abgewickelt wird. ReNotify erhält oder speichert keine Zahlungsdaten; die Zahlung verarbeitet Google gemäß der Google-Datenschutzerklärung. Die App speichert lediglich lokal, ob Pro freigeschaltet ist. Für Umsatzstatistiken nutzen wir zusätzlich RevenueCat; dorthin wird die Kaufbestätigung unter einer zufälligen Kennung übermittelt, ohne Namen, E-Mail-Adresse oder Zahlungsdaten.

3a. Open-Source-Ausgabe

ReNotify gibt es auch als Open Source (Quellcode: github.com/Bahoz420/ReNotify-App-OpenSource). Diese Ausgabe hat alle Funktionen freigeschaltet und enthält keine Käufe, kein RevenueCat und kein Banner. Eine Nutzungsstatistik sendet sie nur, wenn derjenige, der sie gebaut hat, dafür einen Server eingetragen hat, und auch dann erst nach deiner Zustimmung. Von uns selbst veröffentlichte Builds haben keinen solchen Server und senden nichts. Installierst du einen Build von jemand anderem, gilt für das, was dessen Server empfängt, dessen Datenschutzerklärung.

4. Berechtigungen

• Benachrichtigungszugriff – erforderlich, um Benachrichtigungen zu lesen und zu speichern. Du kannst ihn jederzeit in den Systemeinstellungen widerrufen.
• Benachrichtigungen senden – erforderlich, um gespeicherte Benachrichtigungen wieder in die Leiste zu pushen und für geplante Erinnerungen.
• Internet – nur für den Statusbericht aus Abschnitt 2, sofern du zugestimmt hast, und für die Kaufabwicklung.
• Ausnahme von der Akku-Optimierung (optional) – hält den Benachrichtigungszugriff im Hintergrund aktiv, damit der Verlauf lückenlos bleibt.

5. Speicherung und Löschung

Du kannst einzelne Einträge oder den gesamten Verlauf jederzeit in der App löschen. Mit der Deinstallation von ReNotify werden alle lokal gespeicherten Daten dauerhaft entfernt. Statusberichte auf unserem Server verlieren mit der Deinstallation oder dem Widerruf deiner Zustimmung den Bezug zu deinem Gerät, da die zufällige Kennung auf dem Gerät gelöscht wird. Unser Server löscht den Eintrag einer Installation, die 90 Tage lang keinen Bericht gesendet hat, und Absturzberichte nach 90 Tagen. Eine frühere Löschung der Einträge auf dem Server kannst du zusätzlich per E-Mail anfragen.

6. Kinder

ReNotify richtet sich nicht an Kinder unter 13 Jahren und verarbeitet deren Daten nicht wissentlich.

7. Änderungen

Bei Änderungen wird die aktualisierte Fassung unter dieser Adresse mit neuem Stand veröffentlicht.
